Brad has been blessed to serve at First Baptist Oppelo for most of his adult life.  It was here at Oppelo that he surrendered to the Lord's call to ministry and a short time later became the church's first youth pastor.  Several years after that he served in an associate pastor role and then in 2016 the church called him as Head Pastor.  Brad is married to his wonderful wife Toni and they have been blessed with three children, two son-in-laws, and one grandchild.  Pastor Brad attended Central Baptist College in Conway majoring in Pastoral Studies.  He holds a Certificate in Biblical Counseling from Southwestern Seminary and a Certificate in Biblical Studies and Theology from Southeastern Seminary.  Brad enjoys preaching the Word of God and counts himself extremely blessed to be a part of the work God is doing here in Oppelo.         

Matthew has served at FBC Oppelo since January 2026. A native of Texarkana, Arkansas, he is a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University, where he studied Strategic Communications and Christian Foundations. His heart for ministry is centered on making disciples by faithfully handling God’s Word, building intentional relationships, serving others, communication and equipping students with a strong, defensible faith. Outside of ministry, Matthew enjoys antiquing, writing, basketball, and spending time with his wife, Jaelyn.

Cordelia Wilson joined our staff in March 2026 as Children’s Director. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from the University of Central Arkansas and is a Special Education Instructional Specialist with endorsements in Physical Education and Health. With years of experience in education, Cordelia is passionate about helping children learn, grow, and thrive. Her heart for ministry flows from a desire for every child to feel loved and excited to learn about God. She is committed to creating a fun, welcoming environment where children can grow in their faith and feel at home.
